Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Sugar is sweet,
and so are YOU! ♥♥♥
Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The day was originally a pagan festival that was renamed after two Early Christian martyrs named Valentine.
The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines". Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid.
Here's what I did on Valentine's Day ;
I woke up late this morning and went to school with only my purse, keys and water bottle. Haha! Today was the last day of a 3-day Learning Festival I, which meant no classes for past 3 days. On the first day of Learning Festival I {Thursday}, we had Scavengar Hunt and BM Week Singing and Pidato Competitions. On Friday, we had English Week Singing and Drama Competitions. Today we had the Public Speaking Competition in the morning and then after recess it was was Friendship Day Celebration in MGS!
Us Form 5's were already prepared to cry when they played the Friendship Day songs and the slideshow of everyone's captured moments on camera. We cheered, we screamed, we laughed, then we cried. Syahirah was the first to cry, even before everything began! Haha that girl! She made all of us tear up too. The last bit when they had the sing-a-long, some of us who tried to hold back our tears just couldn't anymore. Some were wailing, some were crying non-stop like a waterfall, like Shanese. Haha! Hugs and sweet words were exchanged. All was forgiven, all was forgotten. Vows of everlasting friendship were spoken. I was happy to see girls who stopped talking to each other hugging and crying on each other's shoulders.
School dismissed at 12.45pm, and I walked back home. When I arrived home, mum had prepared lunch for us already. After having lunch, I had a short nap and then went to church.
We were having a special event in church today, exclusively called "Love, Perhaps". Our church's premarital counsellors had a talk on what love is all about. They themselves will be celebrating their 20th Wedding Anniversary this year! The story on how they met was really sweet, they met when Aunty Stella was 18 years old! They spoke about a particular passage in the bible, which some of you might have heard of. For those who don't read the bible, remember A Walk To Remember? Haha yea this passage was incorporated into the movie too. I will share this passage with you.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
